TV| John Lithgow on The Tonight Show

If there’s one thing I can count on from Jimmy Fallon, it’s bringing on people who I’ve idolized almost my entire life in music and on the screen and watch him gush over them, too. It makes me feel like my endless pursuit of pop culture is not for naught. So, seeing a man I first saw in the movie Twilight Zone: The Movie on The Tonight Show last night looking like this…

naturally, I am shocked and intrigued. What a look that could have been on Dr. Dick Solomon! 😀 😀 😀 Turns out John is growing out the Claus hair for a stint in King Lear for Shakespeare in the Park, joined by Annette Bening, lasting until about mid-August 2014. Not only was Lithgow promoting Lear, but he and Jimmy discussed a film being released this year, Love is Strange, which co-stars Alfred Molina as Lithgow’s husband. Here’s the Internet Movie Database blurb:

After Ben and George get married, George is fired from his teaching post, forcing them to stay with friends separately while they sell their place and look for cheaper housing — a situation that weighs heavily on all involved.
